{Lifestyle} Introducing Charlie Bear

Hopefully you all know of Charlie’s arrival from my counting my blessings post from November. If you missed that then Charlie Bear is mine and Kody’s new fur baby, a gorgeous and sweet Spoodle puppy.

Charlie came into our lives during the last week of November, and we collected him on the 27th, the same day I found out we were getting him. Kody had been planning this for quite some time, nothing set in stone, and he never mentioned it to me, but ever since Darcie he had been planning to surprise me with another puppy. And surprise me he did!

I have frequently mentioned to Kody how I missed Darcie, and how I wanted another dog, I also told him the breeds I wanted, either a Labradoodle or a Spoodle (but I was leaning more towards the smaller breed, Spoodle). I thought I was dreaming to deaf ears, I didn’t realise he was hording this information away to find the perfect Christmas/graduation present!

Now I understand that I shouldn’t promote or support puppies being given as Christmas gifts, but I am not a child and I feel that this circumstance is acceptable. Also, I realise that he was a very early Christmas gift, but Kody thought it would be better to get the right puppy a little early rather than waiting. He also he is part graduation gift (6 months early, hopefully) as I no longer wish to go traveling for my graduation with a new puppy!

Now, enough about me, on to Charlie. Charlie is a sweet soul with a temperament that fits perfectly with Kody and I’s lifestyle. He is a Spoodle, half mini poodle, half cocker spaniel, which means that his coat is hypoallergenic so that Kody is not allergic to him. Although I have only had him for a few weeks I am already in love and he has had a huge impact on my life.

Likes: he absolutely loves cuddles, being picked up, sleeping in your lap or under your feet, he loves naps and currently goes for about 6 per day. He also loves tug-of-war which he plays religiously with his big brother, Archer (Kody’s brothers dog), he also likes fetch, even though he doesn’t understand the aim of the game yet, and he loves digging holes with his brother. He likes car rides and just like Kody they send him straight to sleep. He loves treats and already knows how to sit, drop, wait, stay and come (although he still has selective obedience). He loves waking early in the morning and going straight outside for play time. He loves my yoga mat and tries to sleep on it as much as possible, I take it out in the early mornings while he is playing outside, Charlie will come to lay on it, and Archer will follow, making yoga difficult to say the least!

Dislikes: he hates being alone, and will cry if left by himself (we are trying to train him out of separation anxiety at the moment), he doesn’t like seeing people without being able to say hello. He doesn’t like dinner time, as it is confusing and he doesn’t want to eat his own food, you know, the grass is always greener in someone else food bowl.  He also hates banana, and refuses to eat it.

Sorry about the extraordinary amount of photos, but his face is too cute not to share!

I would also like to add that if you would like to be regularly updated with more pictures of similar cuteness then follow @charles_n_theodore on Instagram.

Oh my what a freaking Angel! I searched for Charlie in the search bar after reading about him wearing the thunder shirt. What a cutie! Poor baby getting anxiety, I’m glad that his shirt is helping him.

      He’s precious isn’t he!?
I was so amazed that the thunder shirt actually worked, but I’m super grateful it did!
I hope Coco is settling in well?
