Another month over, in fact, now it is another year gone, hello 2017! I have written my last Favourite Things post for 2016, and next month we will roll over into 2017! How crazy is that!? Since it is December a few of my favourites are to do with Christmas, but I was sure not to include any gifts I received, as I would like to write a separate post on them!
Red Leather Boots | Thrift Store
I managed to pick up this bargain of the century in December, a pair of gorgeous red, genuine leather boots which not only fit me perfectly but are also practically unworn for only $2! The day after I bought these I decided to wear them out and I received compliments from strangers almost immediately!
Sparkly Choker | Gifted
Kodys mum saw how much I have been enjoying chokers recently and bought this little beauty for me (sorry I can’t remember the brand). It has a wide band and is soft which makes it super comfortable, it also has a bit of a sparkle to it, winning!
Mecca Cosmetica Sunbrella Invisible Superspray SPF 50+ | Mecca
Another product which was gifted from Kodys mum was this Sunbrella Invisible Superspray SPF 50+. This is a miracle in a bottle! I don’t know about you but I don’t enjoy applying sunscreen to my face, especially if I’m wearing makeup, well this is a lightweight misting spray with SPF 50+. I wore this out to the Perth Spoodle play date this December, applying it lightly over my makeup, not a touch of redness on my face, my back and legs however (I forgot to apply sunscreen), were well burnt, akin to a lobster!
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – Beso | Mecca
I’ve been loving my reds this December, I think it has been all the festive cheer, if you’re not going to wear red lipstick on Christmas when will you wear it? Anyway, I have this mini Stila sample in the shade Beso and it is just divine. The colour is so bold, just a perfect red, while the formula has amazing staying power and doesn’t tend to dry my lips as other long lasting liquid lipstick do. I wore this to work on New Year’s Eve (black and gold dramatic eyes with a bold red lip, perfection) and I had an entire table compliment me on the shade and ask what it was!
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer – Big Bang | Ozsale
Another red lippy I have been loving this December was the Apocalips lip lacquer in Big Bang. I bought this baby on sale for $2 through Ozsale and it has turned out to be a great investment. The colour is phenomenal and bold, considering how glossy the lipstick remains it has a fairly decent staying power too! Turns out this shade matches one of my favourite red tops exactly, whose a happy camper?!
Batiste Sweet and Seductive Dry Shampoo – Ella Henderson | Priceline
This can of dry shampoo was a quick impulse purchase as it was on sale at the time, and it’s not my usual Tropical scent of Batiste Dry Shampoo. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by the scent and discovered that it is actually very nice. If I can find more (I think it might be old stock?) then I will definitely be buying some more!
Wooden Deer Silhouette | Kmart
I decided on a metallic theme this Christmas, dressing my tree in different metallic baubles and wrapping my gifts in metallic paper, however, this theme didn’t stop me purchasing this adorable wooden deer silhouette from Kmart! I love its raw and minimalist look, definitely one of my favourite Christmas decorations this year!
Mini Santa Hat | Let It Grow Studio
Over Christmas Chelsea from the Let It Grow Studio and Cara from When Cara Met Rex decorated their plants in the studio with miniature little Santa hats (IG picture here). When I was in store, selecting Christmas presents, the girls generously gave me a spare little hat for Olaf my cacti, it has been the funniest decoration I have, seriously making me smile and giggle every time I see it! Thanks girls xx
Puppy Reindeer Antlers | Big W
Lastly, Christmas wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t torture the pups and insist that they wear cute Christmas costumes for photos! I grabbed this reindeer antler headband from Big W (along with various other costume pieces from around the place) and made sure I got at least one picture of my cutie pie, Theo, wearing it. If you want to see the picture you can do so here.
What have you been loving this December?
Any products strike your fancy?
Do you dress your pets/kids up in Christmas costumes too?
Thanks for stopping by.
