{Fashion} November ’17 Thrifted Finds

I went out thrifting a few times this month…
Thrift stores are my happy place. I love just browsing the racks for 30 minutes between appointments or on my way home from work. This month I had a couple of trips with Kody, and I also went out with my mum while she was in Perth again. I got a bunch of amazing steals, and I’m definitely happy with my buys, I got some great items for summer!

Kody took me on a quick thrifting stop this month. We went to the store that sells all clothes for $2 each and I got a couple of bargains! I bought a gorgeous black and tan chevron striped maxi dress from Target, and also a pair of Lee Cooper embroidered denim shorts. The shorts are similar to the Kmart pair which featured on my recent Spring Wishlist, so I am particularly pleased with those!

While my mum was over this November we went to a Sunday morning swap mart. While we were there we both grabbed a few gorgeous pieces. I got a sweet white tank top from Alive Girl which is trimmed with miniature pompoms, such a great top for summer, and I only paid $3 for it. I also grabbed a brand new Quirky Circus dress, I love that it has such a vibrant paisley/floral print with lace detailing on the back.
Aside from clothing I also managed to snap up a great Medium Sleep Ezy Alfresco Bed for Theo for only $10, it was basically new and it came with a brand new replacement cover too! RRP for this bed is $213, and the cover is another $27, so it was a major score!

For 50c each I picked up two vintage books from my local recycling centre. The Little Oxford Dictionary and The Use of Life by Lord Avbury. I’m not interested in either book, but I like the binders and they can make great decorative pieces and photo props. I just love the gold detailing on the spines.

For $2 I grabbed a cute navy and white striped tank top from Miss Shop, which has two chiffon ties across the back shoulders. This cute Giraffe top is from H&M and I picked it up for only $2.50. I’ve already worn this a bunch of times and I’m really enjoying it so far, it might be a little different, but I like that!

I went out with mum a few more times in December, and on one of those trips I got this amazing collection. I got a dark navy, wool felt hat from ASOS for $5.25 {similar}. Speaking of hats, I also got a Target Collection tan floppy hat for $5. I’ve wanted a nice felt hat for ages now, and now that I have two I’ve worn them both a bunch of times! I also picked up a ‘doodle’ dog treat bag for $3.25, Theo already has one, but it is very small, and I didn’t like that my phone/poop bags/treats/keys/inhaler couldn’t all fit in at once. This one is much larger and will suit us well at obedience school next term! And lastly, I picked up a cute grey fitted top with a black trim from Dolina Petites for $2.50, and while it probably isn’t my usual style, I think it looks great on.

With mumma, in my favourite store, the Merriwa Salvos Thrift Store, I picked up a few quirky little pieces. I got a cute bat stuffed toy which I gave to the boys, for 50c. They absolutely love it and Charlie has already begun his routine of disembowelment… I think thrift stores are a great place to find cheap dog toys, just make sure the items donโ€™t have glass eyes, or have any beans in the stuffing etc…
I also got a cute little Christmas tree decoration for $1, it has clips on the side so that it can be opened and filled, so I’m thinking of putting tinsel inside! I also picked up a super comfortable pair of Lee Cooper jeans for $4, and a clip-on velvet bow tie for 50c. I was planning on taking the bow tie apart and using it as a basic pattern for doggy bow ties, but we shall see…

Probably my favourite thrifted piece from this month would be these divine, black leather, Windsor Smith boots {similar}, which I snagged at the Joondalup Good Sammies on sale for only $5! They are a perfect fit, barely worn, and ridiculously comfortable, the only thing is I’m still just trying to work out a compromising sock scenario. How would you wear this style? No socks? Sockettes? Leave your thoughts in the comments, I need some help here.
I also grabbed an orange Kookai crop top, black tee by Boohoo {similar} and a high necked, black and white striped tank also from Target, all for $2 each!

At the end of the month I stumbled into a Vinnies store I had never seen before and raided their $2 rack. I got a nice pair of shorts from Jeanswest, a brand new Vero Moda top and a black lace dress, with amazing wide boho sleeves from Boohoo. I also found a cute, pastel statement necklace which was only $2 as well. I’m definitely looking forward to going back to this thrift store again and seeing what else they have on sale!

Depending on the rest of your outfit, I’d go no socks with the boots or tights. You could go with black or a fun touch of colour to continue it down to your heel ๐Ÿ™‚ You have so many great opshop finds, I really wish I had more time for it as you can find some awesome pieces if you do! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you are having a great weekend! With all of the gifts bought and wrapped I’m enjoying a last quiet day before all the Christmas festivities begin, I’m so looking forward to it! Have a merry Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

Love the boots, I picked up a similar pair on ebay and they’re one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe.

Thanks Nina, I’m glad to hear they are so versatile, I’m keen to start wearing them more (it’s been too hot for boots lately!) Xx
