{DIY} Shabby-Chic Bangles

cover-pic

I bought these super cute raw bangles from a gorgeous little shop off Seminyak Square, Bali. I decided that I didn’t love the dark, natural wood look it had going on, so I decided to lighten them up a little, pastel shabby-chic style!

Tools:
Raw bangles
Acrylic paint (I used white, purple, red and grey)
Paint brush
Sand paper
Spray can of satin varnish

Method:
Step 1. First I primed the bangles with two coats of white acrylic paint.

Step 2. Next I mixed up my paint colours with white to lighten them up and give them pastel shades, and painted two layers onto each bangle.

Step 3. Once they were dry I took some very fine sand paper and lightly sanded down the edges, until I was happy with the shabby chic feel.

Step 4. To finish off I sprayed the bangles with a clear satin varnish. Then let them dry as your varnish directs and enjoy!
