I had to work an ‘Everything 80’s’ function at my job a while back and now I have finally gotten around to sharing that costume with you.
I used items from my wardrobe to create an 80’s feel, and there were only two things in my entire outfit that I had to purchase, them being my colourful, bright pink stockings and a scrunchie! As you can imagine, I also had a bit of fun trying to create bold 80’s style makeup, which entailed a lot of bright colours!
The first thing I did to try and create this look was go through my wardrobe and pick out anything that could fit in with the 1980’s theme, that included everything with strong or bright colour, denim and leather too. Once I had everything out I tried to mix and match garments until I found a combination that I liked!
In the end my costume consisted of a blue/pink/purple multi-coloured bodysuit, short overalls, bright pink opaque stockings, high and thick blue socks, colourful jewellery, and because I was working in this costume, black, enclosed volleys.
To create the makeup I went with bright pink and blue eye shadows, strong, pink blush, bright pink/purple lips, blue nails and bold winged eyeliner. For my hair I pulled it all into a side pony tail, then, teased and back combed it with hair spray to get it BIG, and finished it off with a scrunchie:
For this look I used:
Nude by Nature Liquid Concealer – Light
Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Cover – Light Skin Tones
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Sin
Savvy Mineral Baked Blush – Blossom
BYS Eyeshadow – Neutral Charm
Shady Lady Eyeshadow – Bossy Bobbi
Covergirl Ink It Eyeliner – Black
Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner – 100% Black
Korres Mascara – Black
Maybelline Baby Lips Electric Pop Lipstick – Berry Bomb or Pink Shock
Essie Nail Polish – Smooth Sailing
