{Beauty} September ’17 Empties

We are halfway through October, but I have finally compiled my September empties! This September I used up a total of thirteen products, most were in the haircare and skincare categories, but I managed to fit some cosmetics in this post too! I used up a lot of regular products, but a few new ones too, which I have reviewed for you!

Skincare Products:

Select Cotton Tips | $1.00 (200 tips)
These were the cheapest cotton tips I could find at Woolies whilst doing the grocery shopping, and the quality is reflected in the price, they are cheap, but still functional. The tips aren’t particularly soft as there isn’t much cotton on them, however I found this really good for correcting eye makeup. Just dab them in a little makeup remover and quickly fix your eyeliner, it’s all good!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’ll probably get these again, but I’m working my way through a different brand at the moment.

Tony Moly I’m Real – Seaweeds Skin Purifying Sheet Mask | $6.00 (2pk)
I had a nice relaxing bath this September, and treated my skin to this fabulous Tony Moly mask at the same time. I find the eye holes a little too small for my face on these Tony Moly masks, but they are fun to use and quite refreshing! After I’ve had them on for about 20 minutes I like to rub the excess serum into my skin.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’d love to try out a few more of the Tony Moly sheet mask range.

Beauty Care Co. Cotton Balls | $1.50 (200pk)
I bought these cotton balls from Kmart as they were the cheapest pack I saw at the time. They were perhaps a little on the small side, but I had no strong opinion on them as either pro or con.

Repurchase decision: I’m working through another brand at the moment, but would probably pick these up again.

Amie Petal Perfect Gently Cleansing Micellar Water* | $8.99
I was gifted this product from Amie Skincare and I absolutely loved it. It became my daily cleansing micellar water and I used it almost every night to remove makeup before cleansing, and also to remove grime and sweat from my skin in the mornings! It was so effective, yet gentle on my skin, and it smelt so good!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’d love to get some more of this micellar water.

Cosmetic Products:

Sally Hansen Big Shiny Top Coat | $12.95
I’ve had this top coat for ages now. At first, I loved it, it was so thick and gel like, and it made any nail polish look amazing. However, I had to toss it before it was empty because the silver on the bottle was flaking, and it got inside the polish, leaving silver flecks all over my freshly done nails. Which unfortunately wasn’t my desired look.

Repurchase decision: No. I thought it was a good product, but the poor packaging made it unusable.

Body Products:

EcoTools EcoPouf Mini Sponge | $2.73
This loofah came in my last Priceline Cosmetic Gift Bag, but I only changed over to use it this month. I love using loofahs in the shower, and to me, they are pretty much all the same… I do really love that this sponge is made with recycled materials though, love that they are considering the environment with their products.

Repurchase decision: I’d definitely buy this brand of loofah again, love their commitment to the environment.

Lyf Designs Blueberry Bath Salts | Unknown
I was gifted a blueberry bath bomb and bath salts combo from Lyf Designs a while back, you might have seen my bath bomb review in my May Empties post. I fell in love with the bath bomb, and I fell in love with the bath salts! They were superbly bubbly, foaming and smelt fantastic! If you want some photographic proof then just check out this picture!

Repurchase decision: Their online store is closed until December, but as soon as they are open I am planning on making a large order, I can’t wait to try some more products!

Rexona Motionsense Classic Antiperspirant | $6.99
Unfortunately, this antiperspirant is still mostly full. I’ve used the Rexona brand for ages, trying the Oxygen, and the older, Body Responsive Classic, but never tried the Motionsense Classic before. I couldn’t breath. Whenever I sprayed it I had to leave the room immediately as the particles would get stuck in my throat and I would have a coughing fit… Kody also had problems breathing after I sprayed it, so I decided it was better just to pass it on.

Repurchase decision: I’d never buy the Motionsense Classic antiperspirant again!

Haircare Products:

Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo & Conditioner plus Elixir | $19.99-$34.99 (50-250ml)
I got these sample sachets as part of some goodie bag. I don’t actually remember which one though… While I’m not sure that I saw any crazy growth from two washes, I did think my hair looked really nice, and lasted a few days (which is really good for me and my oily hair) after each wash.

Repurchase decision: Probably not, but that’s just me, there wasn’t anything wrong with the product!

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Strong Styling Hairspray | $8.99 (500g)
Kody and I always use this giant can of Schwarzkopf hairspray, it’s such great value for money, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best hairsprays out there.

Repurchase decision: I’m definitely happy with it, and I will continue to purchase and use it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Sweetie | $9.99 (200ml)
I think this is the last of the Sweetie dry shampoo’s which I stocked up on at Priceline’s 50% off haircare sale a few months back. Sweetie is a delicious scent of vanilla and raspberry, and it’s one of my favourites!

Repurchase decision: Of course I’ll keep using Batiste Dry Shampoo, I barely go a day without it!

Linziclip Midi Claw Clip – Black/Tortoiseshell | $6.95 (3pk)
The Linziclip is an innovative new clip design, which allows for a stronger grasp of the hair, while improving comfort and aesthetics. The shape of the clip hides the claw mechanism, while the flat clip backing ensures it is comfortable, and flat to your head. I was given two of these clips from a family member, and I’m still getting the hang of using them just right, but they do seem a lot more comfortable, especially when you press your head against something and there are no claws digging into your skull.

Repurchase decision: I still need some more time to figure these out, but I think I’d like to try a few more, perhaps in some different colours!

Garnier Fructis Oily Roots Dry Ends Shampoo | $6.49 (250ml)
As I have already stated, I have oily hair, in a world with no dry shampoo I’d have to wash it daily, however, some shampoos do make it a little easier for me, such as this Garnier one. Because it is designed for oily roots, I can usually get an extra day out of my hair before needing to wash it once again!

Repurchase decision: I’m already onto another bottle of this shampoo.

What products did you use up this month?
Have you tried any of these?
Perhaps you love something here? Perhaps you hate it?

Thanks for stopping by.

Oh that shampoo sounds like the kind of thing I need to look for! I really can’t go that long without my hair looking oily, although dry shampoo does help (I’m a big fan of Batiste too!)

Hope you are having a lovely week and your weather is better than ours, haha! Cold and rainy here in Brisbane.

I completely understand Mica! I have no idea what we did before dry shampoo… I barely go a day without some Batiste! Xx
