On Feb 10 Priceline released yet another of their wonderful goodie bags! This time the bag was their hair care gift bag and it contained over $260 worth of free products, eligible with every $49 spend on selected items.
Since this bag was released on my birthday my mum very kindly took me to Priceline to do a little hair care spending, her treat, gifting me with the goodie bag at the end!
To be eligible to receive the hair care gift bag you first had to spend $49 of selected, participating, hair care brands. I chose to buy a Garnier Fructis Oily Roots Dry Ends Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as another giant can of Schwarzkopf Strong Styling Hairspray and a can of Cedel Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair. My mum also grabbed a few bits and pieces to ensure the value was over the minimum spend.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of items included in this hair care bag that I knew I would never use, such as the products specifically designed for coloured hair. I have never coloured my hair and I don’t plan to any time soon. Those items were passed on to my sister, who then in turn shared them with her friend. So hopefully they will get some use in the end and not go to waste.
First up was a set of Provok Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo and Intensive Conditioner, which I promptly passed along. The next item, Essano Argan Oil Haircare Duo Pack, was passed on to my mum, not only was she saying how much she wanted to try an Argan oil shampoo and conditioner when we were in Priceline, but this product also contained Macadamias, a no go for me! I also received the John Frieda Frizz Ease Anti-Frizz Primer, which I have kept for myself at this stage, even though I don’t tend to have particularly frizzy hair. Next out of the bag was the Models Prefer set of Smooth and Shine Big Hair Teaser Brushes, which I have also kept for now, you never know when you might want to re-enact the 80’s! A can of Garnier Fructis Full and Luscious Volume Booster Spray, a box of Schwarzkopf Live Colour Pastels Cool Grey hair dye, a tube of Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo and a can of Colour Addict Spray In Hair Chalk in Purple was also included in this gift bag, out of these products I decided to keep the volume booster spray and the Viviscal shampoo.
The goodies just kept coming out the bag…
I also found a 24 pack of Scucni No Damage Hair Elastics, a mini can (75mL) of Batiste Hold Me Hairspray, a travel can (50mL) of Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Cherry scent and a small can (50mL) of Co Lab Dry Shampoo Sheer and Invisible in Rio, which is a tropical fragrance, all of which I decided to keep for myself.
In the last set of products I pulled out of the goodie bag I received; a bottle of OGX Moisture and Vitamin Weightless Oil Mist, some Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo, a tube of Pantene Pro V 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner Daily Moisture Renewal and a sachet of Hask Charcoal Deep Purifying Conditioner. I ended up keeping all of these products, and I passed on a box of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Treatment and a Marc Anthony Macadamia Deep Rescue Conditioning Treatment sachet. These were passed on due to my allergy to nut products and a lack of coloured treatments on my hair.
Lastly, eight coupons for free and discounted hair products were included in the gift bag, however none interested me so I passed them all on too!
Overall, I think I still had over half the bag worth of items I was keen to keep, and am interested in trying out, while less than half were passed on to family and friends who will use them. Considering I needed a few new haircare products anyway I think it was a great time to buy them, and get this free bag at the same time!
