Now that October has come and gone I thought I would share my October empties with you all. This month I used up only 7 products, far from my usual number of empties which is regularly in the high 20’s. To be honest this was due to a very boring month in the beauty department and an incredibly lax cleansing schedule. Naughty, I know!
Cocofixation Facial Wipes | $12.00 (25 wipes)
From my September “Kiss Me” Bellabox came this sample packet of 5 Cocofixation Facial Wipes. I really enjoyed using this product, the wipes were soft and felt smooth against my skin. They weren’t as tough as some other facial wipes I have tried, however they are made from natural products such as bamboo fibres and coconut oil, so I think this makes up for that. The organic coconut oil in the wipes does a surprisingly good job of removing makeup, and it leaves your skin feeling fresh and lightly scented with coconut.
Repurchase decision: Yes, I would gladly use this product again.
Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser | $53.50 (250mL)
I don’t remember where I picked up this tiny sample, sorry, and I’m not sure there was enough in the packet to formulate an opinion, I have had clear skin recently, so it didn’t calm my skin, but on the other hand it also didn’t break me out. I don’t feel I have used this product enough to justify the high price tag.
Repurchase decision: At this time I have yet to see any benefits, and the product is far too costly in my opinion.
Essano Rosehip Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes | $9.99 (20 wipes)
Now, this full sized product was included in the Priceline Skincare Gift Bag I picked up earlier this year. Honestly I could take or leave this product. They smelt beautiful, and were tough but soft, but I think I would choose the Cocofixation wipes over these. There’s not something about them that I could actually pinpoint, however, they just felt a bit “fake” to me, not natural. Sorry if that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Repurchase decision: No, I wouldn’t buy these again, I have other brands of wipes which I prefer.
Blink Lash Masquerade Lashes* | $19.95
These lashes were gifted to me by Lash Sublime in Perth from the Beauty To A Tea event which I attended this October. I got a bit confused with what the actual lash was called, because it was hard to find on their website, but I think it might actually be the Miss Vamp Faux Lashes which I linked above. Sorry if there is confusion on this. This is the first pair of false lashes I have ever worn, the lashes held up their end, however my application was sadly lacking. I wore them for my Audrey Hepburn – Breakfast at Tiffany’s Costume tutorial, and they definitely made my lashes look longer and fuller, however, I found them difficult to apply in the corners of my lash, but I believe this to be user error.
Repurchase decision: I’m not a huge fan of fake lashes so I can’t see myself repurchasing these.
Le Tan Universal Application Mitt | $9.99
Last month I complained that my old tanning mitt had disintegrated after 2 or 3 uses and I had to replace it. I replaced it with a new Bondi Sands tanning mitt, which then fell apart with the first application (not happy). I decided I had to try a different brand so I went with this lovely soft tanning mitt from Le Tan. It provided me with a lovely and even tan application, and the mitt hasn’t disintegrated yet, so it’s already better than Bondi Sands!
Repurchase decision: Yes, this is going well so far, I will most likely keep repurchasing it.
Intergalactic Bath Bomb | $8.95
Unfortunately I crushed this bath bomb before use, so I poured the crumbled powder into my bath, it was a very sad day. It still turned the bath a beautiful swirl of blue, but I feel it would have been infinitely more beautiful if it had been able to dissolve as intended. I would like to pick up another one just to see it dissolve.
Repurchase decision: Yes, I want another one to see how it is meant to look.
Oral-B Vitality Precision Clean | $49.99
I decided it was time to change up my toothbrush. I change the head regularly, however I just felt it was time to replace the whole unit. I use an electric toothbrush, as advised by my dentist, and pretty much every dentist out there. I always buy the Oral-B Vitality Precision Clean because it’s the cheapest one and I can still feel it cleaning all my teeth well. I never pay full price for these toothbrushes either, Shaver Shop almost always has them on sale for half price!
Repurchase decision: Yes, I really like this toothbrush, I feel it does everything I need.
