{Beauty} May ’17 Empties

This May I went through a total of eighteen beauty products! Most of these items were skincare or body related, and I finished absolutely no makeup products! I honestly don’t know how my May count is so high, it didn’t feel like I was using much, I think it was mainly just constant use over a number of months that saw all of my products finish at the same time. I’m still being quite lazy with my skincare routine, so hopefully this changes soon!

Skincare Products:

Jose Maran Whipped Mud Mask | $70 (50mL)
This May I had a couple of pamper nights, and this gorgeous Jose Maran Whipped Mud Mask was used over two nights! I recently got this little sample in my latest gifted beauty haul, and I really enjoyed it, it was very gentle on my skin.

Repurchase decision: It is probably a little too expensive for me.

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash | $9.99 (150mL)
I keep turning back to this Simple face wash, it is so gentle on my skin, it never leads to breakouts and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Kody and I both use this and we will continue to do so.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m using more already.

Manicare Pink Precision Tweezers | $12.98
I decided that it was time for a new pair of tweezers this month, so I chose these cute pink ones from Manicare. So far, they have been great, perfect for my eyebrows, with a strong hold on each hair that leads to clean plucking!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m really liking this set of tweezers so far!

Essentials Cotton Tips | $2.00 (400 pieces)
I always buy the Target Essentials Cosmetic Pads, so this time I was in Target I picked up their Cotton Tips too! They have been fine, and one of the cheapest options I’ve seen too!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’ll grab another pack next time I’m in Target.

Essentials Cosmetic Pads | $2.00 (160 pieces)
I love these Target Essentials Cosmetics Pads. They are one of the cheapest options I’ve found for cosmetic pads that have a sealed edge all the way around. I absolutely hate cosmetic pads that aren’t sealed, I find I get bits of left over cotton left on my face if it isn’t sealed.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m already onto my next packet.

Smart Skin Moisturising Facial Wipes | $2.50 (25pk)
I keep coming back to these wipes, they aren’t my favourites, but they are good for their price. They are regularly on sale at Woolies for $1, it just doesn’t get much cheaper than that!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m going to keep using these.

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water All in 1 | $13.99 (400mL)
I love the Garnier Micellar Waters, they are such an excellent product at an affordable price! What did we all do before micellar water?!

Repurchase decision: Yes!

Fragrance Products:

Impulse Perfume in a Spray – Love Story | $4.99 (75mL)
I’ve finished another of my favourite signature Impulse scents, Love Story, this month. This is my go to deodorant, and I use it daily.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I will continue to use this scent daily.

Body Products:

Schick Hydro Silk Blades | $19.29 (4pk)
I love my Schick Hydro Silk Razor Blade and I continue to use it, and replace the blades regularly. This month I decided it was time to change the blade on my razor again, so I turned to my blade refills.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I love this razor and I’ll continue to refill the blades as needed.

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb | $6.50
This is one of the few Lush bath bombs that I have actually repurchased. While I like almost all the Lush bath bombs I’ve tried so far, there are always new ones to try. Me repurchasing this basically speaks for itself, I adore this bath bomb! It smells so delicious!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’d buy it again and again.

Rexona Women Oxygen Body Antiperspirant | $6.99 (250mL)
This is an older bottle of Rexona, as they have updated with new look cans, and I can no longer find the Oxygen scent. It was at the back of the bathroom cupboard, and I decided to use it up. Rexona is my go to antiperspirant brand.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I will continue to buy Rexona antiperspirant.

Gillette Satin Care Violet Swirl Shave Gel | $7.99 (195g)
If you have been following my empties posts you will most likely know that I go through this Gillette shave gel like there’s no tomorrow!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I don’t mind which scent, but I will continue to use the Gillette Shave Gel.

LYF Designs Blueberry Bath Bomb | Unknown
I received this gorgeous bath bomb as a prize from LYF Designs and I absolutely fell in love with it! I can’t wait for them to get more stock in so that I can buy a whole bunch of different scents, while I still love my Lush bath bombs, I really like that this company is still a small business in my local area!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I can’t wait to buy some more of these!

Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion | $9.99 (225mL)
I’ve used Aveeno hand cream for years now, I have struggled with eczema on my right hand for a very long time, and Aveeno is one of the best moisturisers I have used on my eczema. This cream has seriously lasted me so long, while I like this Aveeno cream, I also like the Aveeno Dermexa and the Aveeno Intense Hand Cream as well.

Repurchase decision: I’ve currently got the Dermexa and the Intense Hand Cream at the moment which I am enjoying.

Cheekee Chocolate and Coffee Scrub | $19.95 (200mL)
After I used this scrub up I actually noticed that it had expired… woops… But it didn’t seem to affect it in any way. I still loved the scrub, and it smelt fantastic! I absolutely love that this is another super local, small business, and I wrote a more detailed review on it here.

Repurchase decision: I’d love to pick up some more Cheekee Scrubs!

LYF Designs Bath Salt Samples | Unknown
When I received my LYF Designs bath bomb I also received a whole pile of bath salt samples. There really was a delicious selection, I really liked the Candy Cane and the Cotton Candy samples!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’d love to pick up some of these LYF bath salts.

Haircare Products:

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Ella Henderson | $9.99 (200mL)
One of my favourite scents, which I have stockpiled, and talked about many times, is the Ella Henderson Batiste Dry Shampoo. It smells so good and you can’t beat Batiste for dry shampoo!

Repurchase decision: Unfortunately, this scent is now discontinued, but I’ll keep using Batiste dry shampoo for all of my days!

Garnier Fructis Oily Roots Dry Ends Shampoo | $6.49 (250mL)
Lately I have been using this oily roots, dry ends shampoo, as I have extremely oily hair. It seems to be doing the trick, nothing amazing, but with some help from dry shampoo I can last about four to five days without washing my hair if I stretch it.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m already onto my next bottle.

What have you used up this month?
Tried any of the same products as me?
Have you heard of the local brands I’ve been loving?

Thanks for stopping by.

I have really oily hair too, how do you manage 4-5 days? With dry shampoo I can last 2, maybe 3 days between washes. Maybe I should try to last longer?

When you say oily tho…? I could wash mine daily!

I would wash mine daily too Meg, and I used to, if I wasn’t trying to keep myself from washing it all the time… Believe me, my hair is about as oily as it gets. I washed my hair last night before bed, woke up as was already into the dry shampoo! I just try to keep myself from washing too often with dry shampoo, and changing up my hair styles to hide the oily parts! 🙂

18 products!!! Good job :’) I always look at all my products and wish I could finish them all (so I don’t have the guilt of buying new ones). Simple skincare is great and so affordable. I’m also interested in the chocolate scrub :p
