{Beauty} June ’16 Empties

I had a pretty quiet month this June and I didn’t get through too many products, and the ones that I did get through were mostly small sample products. Hopefully I will have a more productive month in July! In total during June I went through ten products.

Skincare Products:

AVON Nutra Effects Radiance Daily Cream and Nutra Effects Radiance Renewing Cream | $15.00 (50mL)
I received these AVON nutra effects samples in my May “Conscious Beauty” bellabox, to be honest the samples weren’t enough for me to formulate a complete decision on them as I only had about three to four uses from the sample pack. However, from my limited trial with this product I enjoyed the thickness and consistency, and I felt it soaked into my skin nicely, without leaving behind an oily residue. For the price, I think this product would be worth trying again.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I think I would buy this again, if only just to try it out for longer and see some long term effects, I felt this product is actually priced very decently.

Derma E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask | $34.99 (48mL)
I already gave you guys my review on this mask in my May “Conscious Beauty” bellabox post, which is where I received this sample product. I managed to get two uses from this small packet, and I thought the mask left my skin feeling really soft and clean afterwards.

Repurchase decision: Although I loved this mask I wouldn’t buy it again as I have too many masks to go through at the moment.

Cosmetic Products:

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipstick – Firebird | $29.00 (full size)
This is now the second of four sample lipstick shades I have tried in the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani range. To be honest, I really preferred the last shade I tried, Ex-Girlfriend, I felt that the other shade had a better consistency and longevity. This shade was a little bright for my taste, and I also felt that Firebird transferred a lot more easily than Ex-Girlfriend. But perhaps that may have been in my head because they are from the same range.

Repurchase decision: No, I wouldn’t buy this shade again.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick – Canvas | $41.00 (full size)
I received this sample liquid lipstick from Kody’s mum in my makeup haul, and I fell in love with it instantly. The colour, Canvas, was incredible and I loved the velvet matte finish of this liquid lipstick, I was also really impressed with the longevity of this product!

Repurchase decision: I tend to gravitate towards drugstore brands, however if I wanted to treat myself I would definitely buy myself another of this product, I loved it!

Fragrance Products:

The Body Shop Fragrance – Black Musk | $28.95 (30mL)
Usually I am a fan of The Body Shop fragrances, however I was neither here nor there about this fragrance, it just wasn’t a scent that I loved!

Repurchase decision: No, the scent wasn’t for me.

Body Products:

Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel with Olay | $7.99 (195g)
I have always used the Gillette shaving gels and I love them. They come out of the can in a thick gel but lather up into a great foam, so easy to use and smooth to apply. I don’t really have a favourite gel in the Gillette range, I just tend to buy whatever looks good at the time, and this time I tried the gel with touches of Olay.

Repurchase decision: Yes, but not necessarily this exact one.

Lush Rose Queen Bath Bomb | $6-$8
Sorry, I couldn’t find a link or exact price for this bath bomb, I think it was a limited edition, but from memory it was around $6-$8. It may have been a limited edition, however if you can still get your hands on it I highly recommend it, it smelt like perfection and when it dissolved in my bathtub it released dried rose petals that re-hydrated on contact with the water.

Repurchase decision: Yes, if I had the option to buy this bath bomb again I would.

Hair Products:

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner | $15.99 each (250mL)
This shampoo and conditioner set was another item from my May “Conscious Beauty” bellabox, and I have to say that I absolutely loved them! I didn’t really expect them to work to be honest, I have always had very fine hair and it has always been hard to get any volume, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well this product worked, the first time I used it I washed my hair at night and slept on my wet hair, for work the next morning I pulled my hair into the fullest pony tail I had ever had in my life. It had so much volume I actually had trouble brushing it once it was dry, but it still looked really soft and smooth!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I think I will buy this when I finally run out of shampoo and conditioner next, it was fantastic!

What products have you been through this month?
Did you empty anything you loved?

Haha, I usually only manage to get through small sample items, so it feels like I’ve gone through less than I actually have. If you save up your empty containers I’m sure you will be surprised to see how much you actually use!

I have never had a problem like that Francheska, maybe it is time to give Lush another go?
