January is over and I have gone through my empties bin once again. This month I managed to use up a total of 12 products, most of them relating to skincare. I’ve trialled and finished a few new items, as well as emptying some old favourites which I’m sure you’ll have seen here before.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel | $24.99 (50g)
This January Kody and I emptied out yet another tub of this amazing moisturiser! We also used up a full sized tub last September and I’ve gone through a few samples too! You probably already know that Kody and I both adore this moisturiser, and we use it daily. Kody uses it all year round while I particularly enjoy it in the summer months, when my skin tends to be oilier, as it is super light on your skin and soaks in immediately!
Repurchase decision: Yes, I already have another tub in use!
Beauty Essentials Sensitive Skin Cleansing Wipes | $3.99 (25pk)
These facial wipes are Priceline’s home brand and I was gifted them in my goodie bag from the SS16 VIP Fashion Event. If I’m being honest, I didn’t use a single one of these wipes on my face. They smelt strongly of chemicals and the quality just wasn’t there for me, instead I decided to use them behind the scenes of my blog, wiping down all my makeup before photo shoots, and for this purpose they seemed perfectly adequate.
Repurchase decision: No, I wouldn’t buy these for myself.
Simple Soothing Facial Toner | $9.99 (200mL)
This has been the brand of toner I have used since my teen years. I find it really gentle on my skin and I’ve never seen a reason to change it. I’m open to trying new brands, but at the same time I’m not really bothered about changing.
Repurchase decision: I’m already using a backup bottle.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths | $7.49 (25pk)
This is now the second packet of these I have used up out of the three packs I was given (June and November Priceline Skincare Gift Bags and June ’16 Bellabox). I have to say that I’ve actually become quite fond of these wipes. They are very soft and sturdy at the same time, they never rip, pill or feel rough on your skin and they always leave my face feeling fresh and moisturised.
Repurchase decision: Yes, I’d buy them myself.
Essentials Cosmetic Pads | $2.00 (160pk)
I always repurchase these Target brand cosmetic pads. I only use cosmetic pads which are sealed along the edge, the ones that aren’t sealed really annoy me, and Target sells good ones for a good price. They are sealed, soft and cheap, I’m not sure what else you could want from cosmetic pads?
Repurchase decision: Yes, I have bought more already.
Cala Facial Buff Loofah | Unknown (2pk)
I originally purchased these from Ozsale, I think they were about $4 for two double loofah packs. These are small round loofah pads which I use to apply my cleanser and exfoliate my face. I change them out fairly regularly, but I’ve never saved the packet for my empties posts before.
Repurchase decision: I stocked up when they were on sale, but if I see them on Ozsale again I would definitely buy more.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ | $58.00 (Full Size)
Kodys mum gifted me with this tester sized tube of IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in the lightest shade, fair. It quickly became a favourite for good reason. It is the best foundation I have ever worn (Bourjois Healthy Mix is a close second, but costs nearly half the price, so pro’s and con’s, ya know?), it is a CC cream, and therefore isn’t high coverage, however it makes up for that in other ways; It is super light on your skin, it looks completely natural, it blends well, it smells good, and it has this really wonderful brightening quality, which my tired under eyes need, and the list could go on…
Repurchase decision: I’m hoping to pick up some more in there near future!
Impulse Perfume in a Spray – Love Story | $4.99 (75mL)
I’ve has this scent of Impulse feature in a few of my empties posts now (April ’16 and September ’16), Love Story is my favourite scent after all! It is a delicious bouquet of berry, fruit and floral tones.
Repurchase decision: Yes.
Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar | $10.95
This bubble bar from Lush has to be one of their best scented products, and that is saying something because I think they all smell good! It says that it is blackberry scented, and the aroma is just divine (I’m sniffing the packaging as I write this, is that a bit odd?!). Since it is a bubble bar it lasts longer than the bath bombs, as it can be broken up into smaller pieces. I had three delicious baths with this one amazing bubble bar.
Repurchase decision: Yes. Next time I’m in Lush I’ll pick up another one!
Rituals… The Ritual of Sakura Shower Foam | $15.00 (200mL)
I received this 50mL can of shower foam in my November ’16 Lust Have It bag. It smells subtle and has a very soft and delicate scent of organic rice milk and cherry blossoms. I ended up using it as a shaving foam as I found the consistency to be perfect, foamy but not too thick, it didn’t clog my razor blades as some shaving foams do.
Repurchase decision: If it was readily available in Australia I might buy it myself, but I wouldn’t order it from the USA.
Batiste Dry Shampoo – Ella Henderson | $9.99 (200mL)
I bought about four of these Batiste Ella Henderson Dry Shampoos when they went on sale for $4, however, I think they are no longer available as they were only a limited edition product. I really like the scent of this dry shampoo, and whilst wearing it (and not wearing any perfume) I’ve had a few people ask me what perfume I’m wearing, so it must be good. I decided I liked it (or at least the compliments I got whilst wearing it) so much that I featured it on my December ’16 Favourite Things post!
Repurchase decision: I’m fairly sure it is no longer available.
Neon & Co. Hair Shot Ampoules | $10.00 (10mL)
This product was included in my last bellabox review, the October “Spring Racing Carnival’ Bellabox. It smells amazing! I’m not sure what it is scented with but it just smells like lollies, memories and childhood to me, so it started on a positive from the first whiff. This product also reacted really well to my hair, leaving it looking so soft and shiny after every application. I only used about 1mL per application, so it ended up lasting quite a while too.
Repurchase decision: I might buy this again, I definitely liked it.
