{Beauty} IT Cosmetics CC Cream Review

Okay, I think I can sum up my review for the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in two words, ‘Holy-Grail’.

I was lucky enough to be given a tube of this amazing cc cream and I haven’t looked back since. I do have another favourite foundation which I also talk about substantially, the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundations. Whilst the Bourjois is a drug store brand I do find the two somewhat comparable, although they both have their individual strengths.

I actually emptied this product back in January, but have been using a second tube of it since then. My first tube was in the lightest shade, fair, whilst the tube I am currently using is the next shade darker, light. Surprisingly I have found that both shades are a perfect colour match to my skin tone. I think this is largely due to the lightness of the product, so it doesn’t overpower your natural skin tone beneath. If I had to choose one shade which I thought suited me better I would probably say the light shade, as it tends to make me appear a little more tan, if anything. There are a total of five shades in this range, and considering the amount of give each shade has I would say it would be hard to find someone who cannot find a shade to suit.

The packaging of the product is classically styled to fit the IT Cosmetics range, with a modern or even futuristic feel and a silver iridescent tube. The smaller tube of 12mls are packaged in squeeze tubes, while the larger, 32ml bottles utilize a pump tube. I personally feel you can get more product out of a squeeze tube, while the pump bottles are definitely easier to use. Pros and cons my friend, pros and cons.

The product itself is a light weight cc cream. It says that it is full coverage, but think full coverage cc cream, not full coverage foundation, there is definitely a difference. It applies light, feels lightweight on your skin, but still provides you with a decent coverage. It does not do much to hide blemishes, but it can even out your skin tone and hide redness without much trouble. I also love that it has SPF 50+, its sun protectant quality is definitely an asset!
As I said earlier, the cc cream is very lightweight on your skin, and it can feel as though you aren’t wearing makeup or sunscreen at all. Its lightweight texture is also fantastic for blending, and it can buffer out easily, giving you a naturally flawless effect. I love using one of my large oval makeup brushes to apply this cc cream, and in a few strokes, it will blend into my natural skin without an issue. As you apply it you will notice a pleasant, but distinct scent. I want to say it is a citrus scent with floral undertones to it, I really enjoy the scent.
Once applied I usually like to fix this with a setting spray, otherwise I can find it doesn’t have the durability I require. I haven’t found a foundation that can keep up with me for 6-8hrs at work each day simply on its own yet (I work in a cafe, so always on my feet, running around, and bent over a coffee steamer), so it’s a no brainer for me to use a setting spray to keep it in place. With the setting spray I am very happy with its longevity, and I don’t cringe when I see myself in the rear view mirror on my way home!

This foundation is one of the cheaper high-end foundations on the market, and you can buy a 32ml tube from Sephora for $58. My other favourite foundation is the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, which is $29 for 30mls, so nearly half the price. While I do like both foundations, IT Cosmetics does win overall favourite in my book. I tend to use Bourjois everyday as it is cheaper, while I like to save my IT Cosmetics CC Cream for special events where I need a more flawless finish.

I hope you found this review helpful, and if you have any other thoughts on this product I’d love to hear them, so make sure you leave a comment down below!
