{Beauty} December ’16 Empties

Can you believe this is my last empties post for 2016?! I will continue this series in 2017, but it still feels crazy that I have now written 10 of these posts! Although I didn’t start this series from last January I thought you still might like to know that in the last 10 months I have used a total of 139 beauty products, to me this number just seems ridiculous, it doesn’t feel like I go through anywhere near this amount! I guess a lot of them were only single use or sample sized products, so that is most likely where I made up most of my numbers… Decembers humble total was 11 products.

Skincare Products:

Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes | $7.99 (25pk)
I received this 7 pack of Neutrogena wipes as a free gift with some purchases I made online, I thought the wipes were quite good, strong and soft, whilst taking off the bulk of my makeup, however, similar to the Simple wipes the packet wasn’t very well designed and the “re-sealable” tab kept coming undone.

Repurchase decision: If the packaging was different I would buy these again.

Tony Moly I’m Real Rice Mask Sheet – Clear Skin | $4USD
I have been hanging out to try these Tony Moly masks since I first saw them, when one of the darling girls at work heard that I had been wanting to try them she generously gifted me with two of hers! This December I soaked in the tub with one of my delicious Lush bath bombs whilst enjoying this mask on my face, it was pamper heaven for me! This mask felt really good on my skin, and also had a lot of serum which I left to soak into my skin overnight!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I would love to try more of these masks!

Cosmetic Products:

Maybelline Brow Drama – Dark Brown | $12.95
I grabbed this brow mascara back in April for 50% off, you may remember seeing it in my Priceline Haul, and I have used it literally every day since. For this product to last 8 months of continuous use I think it is definitely good value for money. Since my brows are naturally dark and thick I barely ever actually outline them, most days I simply wipe this through my brows to keep the hairs in place, and it works beautifully for me!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I will be buying this again soon.

Body Products:

Gillette Satin Care Violet Swirl Shave Gel | $7.99 (195g)
The scent is always changing (you can never find one you bought a few months back), but I always buy Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel. I really enjoy the thick foaming gel and I find this product does a good job of restoring moisture to the areas you shave.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I will keep buying the Gillette Shave Gel.

Schick Hydro Silk Razor Blades | $19.29 (4pk)
The Schick Hydro Silk is my absolute favourite shaver; therefore, I am regularly using up the replacement razor blades for my shaver to unsure a clean and close shave! I have never cut myself with this razor, it is absolutely wonderful!

Repurchase decision: I already have more replacement blades ready to go!

Lush Snow Angle Bath Melt | Unknown
This bath melt was a part of the Lush Limited Edition Christmas Range, and I’m sorry but it is no longer available online. This bath melt gently dissolved into my tub, leaving behind a subtle white foam and a lot of golden shimmer!

Repurchase decision: I would get this if it became available again.

Lush So White Bath Bomb | $7.95
Another item from the Lush Christmas Range was this So White Bath Bomb. This bath bomb had an intense fresh apple scent to it and foamed white before releasing yellow and blue colours to turn the bath green.

Repurchase decision: Probably not, there are others I like better.

Lush Golden Wonder Bath Bomb | $8.95
The last Lush bath bomb I bought from the Limited Edition Christmas Range was this large Golden Wonder bomb. Out of the three this was by far my favourite. It had a base of dark blue, with a rainbow of colours spattered throughout the tub and little golden stars and golden shimmer floating amongst it all. It was a magical experience!

Repurchase decision: Yes! If there become available again I will definitely buy more!

Hair Products:

Schwarzkopf Strong Styling Hairspray | $8.99 (500g)
This is mostly used by Kody, but I still contribute to its demise. I find the 500g can is by far the best value for hairspray, and I have always liked the Schwarzkopf brand. I find this hairspray does everything Kody and I require from it!

Repurchase decision: I’m already onto my next can.

Keune Care Line Shampoo – Derma Regulating | $20 (250mL)
I don’t buy this shampoo all the time, it’s too expensive for that, but I do like to grab it when my hair is becoming particularly oily. I bought two bottles from my hairdresser back in September and it has taken three months of constant use to empty one bottle. I really like this shampoo for oily hair as it leaves my hair fresher for longer. I usually have to wash my hair daily, with this shampoo I can wash my hair, then add some dry shampoo on day 3 or 4 and carry out the rest of the week with dry shampoo if I really want to stretch it, which is pretty unheard of for my hair!

Repurchase decision: I’m already onto my second bottle, but I will be buying more as well.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Tropical | $15.99 (400mL)
Another month down and another can of dry shampoo emptied. Although I am using the Keune shampoo I find that I still use the same amount of dry shampoo, as I can stretch the time in between washes further by applying quick touch ups with dry shampoo.

Repurchase decision: Yes, always!

What products have you used this month?
Do you suffer from oily hair?
What is your favourite technique for dealing with it?

Thanks for stopping by.

I’m actually a fan of Neutrogena’s facial wipes – they’re one of the more gentle brands and I like how moisturising the residue is but alas, that damn “resealable” pack. I really want to try that Tony Moly Mask. I’m always on the lookout for new masks to try. šŸ™‚

Yep, I agree, I don’t think I have tried a Neutrogena product that I didn’t like, but the packaging on this one just gets to me! The Tony Moly masks were good, I know they have a huge range as well, so you can address basically any skincare concern!
