{Beauty} April ’17 Empties

Whooo, my grand total of products for the month of April comes in at 7! Haha, not great, but still a modest little haul. The only thing I can think to attribute this to is staying home more often with the foster puppies, and not requiring as many beauty products as usual because I’m not leaving the house as much. But that is just a theory… perhaps I am just lazy!

Skincare Products:

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash | $9.99 (150mL)
Kody and I love this cleanser, I’ve been using it on and off for years now and I always manage to come back to it. It just does a wonderful job of cleaning your skin, clearing away acne and keeping it at bay.

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m already onto another tube!

Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask | $123.00 (50mL)
This tiny sample actually made up two masks for me, which I thought was fab, a little definitely goes a long way… which helps to justify its hefty price tag, almost… I thought the mask itself was really nice too, it felt gorgeous on my skin and it really helped to clear away some stress acne I was suffering with at the time. On the con side though, it is probably too expensive for me to repurchase with my current student status.

Repurchase decision: No, I would like to, but it is simply too expensive.

My Scheming Blackhead Removal Activated Carbon Mask Set | $10.00
I’ve had this mask for quite a while now, and it has lasted Kody and I many applications. At first, I felt it was a bit hit and miss, however I discovered the masks that didn’t work as well was due to user error. This mask is a three-step system, you really have to complete the first step correctly for the mask to have any effect. After I discovered this the rest of my applications were a lot more satisfying.

Repurchase decision: I already have another box ready to go.

Cosmetic Products:

Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Mascara – Night Fall* | $18.00 (10g)
I used this mascara a grand total of five times, and five times it miserably disappointed me. I’m not sure exactly what is wrong with it, perhaps it is because it isn’t water proof, but if you wear it for more than an hour it begins to transfer onto your skin around your eyes. I came home after six hours at work (where I had an easy shift, and didn’t sweat or touch my face at all) only to find I looked devastatingly like a zombie, with dark black rings around my eyes. An absolute fail.

Repurchase decision: Never.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation – Vanilla | $16.00 (30mL)
I finally used up my first container of my holy grail foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in the shade Vanilla. I have been using this foundation full time since January, so I think that it lasted me until April is incredible, definitely worth every penny! If you want to see more about this one I wrote down my first impressions in January!

Repurchase decision: Yes, I’m onto my second bottle already.

Body Products:

Gillette Satin Care Violet Swirl Shave Gel | $7.99 (195g)
You guys probably already know that I love this stuff and I use it all the time, Gillette Shaving Gels have already featured in my June, September and December 2016 empties posts. I just feel that this foaming shave gel really helps to create and smoother and softer shave, replenishing my skin with moisture as I shave.

Repurchase decision: Yep, onto another can already.

Haircare Products:

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Eden | $9.99 (200mL)
Every time I have a new scent of Batiste Dry Shampoo I claim it is my favourite. This month is no exception. Eden is a soft and sweet scent made up of sugar melon and honeysuckle, who wouldn’t love that combo? Of course, another month down, and another can of dry shampoo emptied… guys, I couldn’t live without this stuff.

Repurchase decision: I’m already onto another can, although it isn’t the Eden scent. I definitely want to grab some more Eden at my next shop though.

What products did you use up this month?
Have you tried any of these products?
What did you think of the Dusty Girls mascara?

Thanks for stopping by.

I go through so much dry shampoo and I’m absolutely in love with batiste from scents to packaging (so cute!) so I get you, girl. From this list I’m also intrigued by the black head removal carbon mask set. Seems kinda complicated from how you described it, but I need some black head removal in my life and it sounds like you liked the product! And that’s quite a reasonable price.

It’s how crazy how much dry shampoo you can use up Julia hey, you never seem to notice until you actually take note, like storing all your empties each month! Batiste are really doing something right though, everyone I speak to loves Batiste, and for good reason! I’m thinking about trying out different charcoal masks to see if their is an easier, yet still effective one on the market… I’ll keep you updated! Xx

I’m glad you liked the post! 🙂
Batiste is the best! Do you have a favourite scent? Xx

I didn’t manage to finish too much in April either.
Such a shame about the mascara, I find I can’t wear anything that isn’t waterproof or it transfers so badly on me.

Some months just feel slower… but its all good!
The Dusty Girls mascara was a bit of a shame… I’m currently using Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which also isn’t waterproof, and I’m having none of the same transferal issues… it’s so strange! Xx

Dry shampoo is my bestie! I’m loving the Clay Dry Shampoo from Loreal at the moment. It’s so good and doesn’t leave white streaks in my dark hair.

Pity about the Dusty Girl, I loved my mascara.

Ooh, as much as I love Batiste that Loreal dry shampoo sounds pretty good, I might have to keep an eye out for it!
Did you not have any issues with transferal with the Dusty Girls mascara? Perhaps I’m doing something wrong… I would love to love it!
